As part of our annual Light on a Dark Day mental health initiative, the team at The Willows welcomed Mary Grady from The Lighthouse Charity for an inspiring talk focused on mental wellbeing in the construction industry.
This message was shared across all GEM sites and offices, bringing together employees and subcontractors to pause from their daily work, share a meal, and reflect together. These moments of connection are especially important as we approach the Christmas period, a time when mental health challenges can intensify for many people.
The initiative highlights GEM’s ongoing commitment to supporting wellbeing at work and creating a culture where open conversations around mental health are encouraged and supported.
For anyone working in construction who may be struggling, The Lighthouse Charity provides free, confidential, 24/7 wellbeing support for construction workers and their families. Their services include emotional support, physical health guidance, and financial wellbeing assistance, tailored specifically to the construction sector.
