Last Friday, we proudly relaunched our “Light on a Dark Day” campaign with an inspiring message from Managing Director Martin Healy, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness. Originally launched in 2020, this initiative aims to bring light and hope during the darkest time of the year.
This year, we’re thrilled to partner with SOSAD Ireland, continuing our commitment to raising awareness and supporting mental health. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our GEM team and the unwavering support of our colleagues, suppliers, and partners, this campaign is growing stronger than ever.
At its heart, “Light on a Dark Day” is about fostering open conversations, supporting one another, and making a meaningful impact both within GEM and in the wider community. In 2020, we raised funds for Pieta House, and now, in partnership with SOSAD, we’re determined to build on that momentum. Looking ahead, our plans for 2025 include monthly site visits with SOSAD representatives, further emphasizing the importance of talking openly about mental health challenges.
To launch this year’s campaign, we hosted a company-wide lunch last Friday, offering colleagues a chance to pause, connect, and enjoy a shared meal. We also introduced the heartfelt book, “For My Friend in a Difficult Time,” now available at all our sites and offices, as a source of comfort and encouragement for anyone in need.
“Light on a Dark Day” is more than just a campaign—it’s a powerful reminder that together, we can break the stigma, spark conversations, and build a supportive community.
