Today is the final day of what has been a very successful and collaborative Construction Safety Month 2023 across GEM sites.
This week’s safety topic was Slips, Trips and Falls as they have proven to be the most common causes of accidents in the workplace. A series of toolbox talks were held on each of our sites to highlight the dangers and consequences of slips, trips and falls as well as the importance of managing housekeeping in all areas of the site. An Environmental, Health and Safety themed crossword was distributed to all operatives to prompt more interactive discussions. Awards were handed out to select individuals on each site for their unwavering commitment towards safety both for the benefit of themselves and their fellow workers.
A massive well done and thank you to everyone who participated in and contributed to safety demonstrations, talks and presentations on our sites throughout safety month as this has highlighted and reinforced the fact that the health and safety of everyone who works on GEM sites is of paramount importance. A particular thank you to our Health & Safety Department and Site Teams for their ongoing commitment to health and safety.
Finally, well done to the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) for assigning October 2023 to enhance the importance of Health and Safety across the entire construction industry.
