Last Friday saw the official opening of the Church Fields Show Village in Dublin 15, one of Ireland’s largest affordable housing projects, inaugurated by Minister for Housing, Darragh O’Brien TD.
In just eight months since the sod-turning ceremony in February, the Church Fields Show Village is now complete with 20 fully finished homes, along with external works. This milestone was achieved through a successful partnership with Fingal County Council under a Design, Construction, Delivery, and Sale Development Agreement.
The development’s first two phases will bring a total of 517 new A-rated homes to the area, with construction fast-tracked using Last Planner Systems to accelerate delivery. The project also incorporates sustainable engineering solutions, such as soil stabilization and renewable technologies. The first 80 units are expected to be completed by Christmas, moving closer to the goal of establishing a vibrant new community.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Darragh O’Brien TD, Minister for Housing; Jack Chambers, Minister for Finance; Roderic O’Gorman, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration, and Youth; AnnMarie Farrelly, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council; and Cllr. Brian McDonagh, Mayor of Fingal.
This project demonstrates GEM’s commitment to supporting the Government’s Housing for All Plan, and we look forward to welcoming the first families to their new homes soon.
